I use art and design to explore what is sacred to me.
I believe in:
Hospitality and the power of initiation.
Harmonizing people to each other and to big ideas.
Personal and cultural transformation that honestly reckons with power.
I experience the world as a painter, a designer, a dancer, a creator. The visual and performing arts are my most reliable tools, whether I am figuring out how to seed the ground in my organization with a new theory of change or replenishing myself.
My southern roots in Texas shape me, as does my embodiment as a queer and trans white person. I am not surprised that my lifelong fascinations are with power, land, political proxies in the ideological battles of our time, and the strength found in the joy and intimacy of the heart.
I am excited about the spiritual and artistic leadership that is abundant within the LGBTQI community; we must cultivate these skills as a matter of course. I am curious how my life's work can elevate and affirm how my people are uniquely built to integrate and share these gifts.
